6" Steel Bed Bolts commonly seen on antique rope beds, securely connect side rails to head/foot boards. Tendon end of side-rail slips into mortise-cut in bed-post. Once in place, bed bolt draws wood bed-post and side-rail tightly together producing a strong rigid joint.Ā However, some vintage beds have odd thread sizes, if different, nut in side-rail will need to be replaced.
